There is no excuse for bad behavior. There is no excuse for allowing bad behavior to go unchecked.
The purpose of this site is to promote self accountability and self responsibility. Much of the scope of the information here is set within the world of BDSM, but certainly the ideals of accountability and responsibility are not limited to any subset of human interaction.
Our focus is a multifaceted one with an emphasis on education and empowerment. We aim to:
- define the types of situations we find unacceptable
- educate on ways to prevent such incidents from occurring
- reinforce the concept of consent as the basis for all interactions
- hold everyone accountable for their own actions
- empower people to take responsibility for their own actions and reactions
- encourage speaking out as a means to take back any power that is taken or threatened to be taken
- define and defend our boundaries, limitations and thresholds
- decrease the number of negative incidents
In short, we aim to bring about a climate of change within our community. We want to usher in a climate where in we have safe spaces, avenues of exploration without intimidation, freedom to embrace all manner of things without agendas and influences.
We want those who identify as the power wielders to:
- act responsibly
- to not intimidate or manipulate
- to treat everyone as people first and BDSM practitioners second
- to make consent be of imperative importance
- to not engage in any type of physical interaction without express permission
- to hold themselves and their peers accountable for their actions
We want those who identify as those who kneel to power to:
- to educate themselves on their own boundaries
- to be willing to defend those boundaries
- to speak out when uncomfortable situations arise
- to ask for help if they are feeling unsure
- to learn to say no and make sure no means no
- to hold themselves and their peers accountable for their action
